To help you, the next amateur, judge how much a small vineyard like the one I am building is going to cost you, I will be listing here in a few days a breakdown of materials and costs based on 2003 Pricing for the North-Central Alabama Economy. I hope this helps you in determining how much money you will have to set aside to just get a vineyard started. Keep in mind, this will not list how much the vineyard will cost each year in terms of irrigation, power for electric fence, pesticides, round-up, etc., as these costs vary each month.
